Sweet Sunday

Sunday defenetely was a day for contemplation. The sun was shining and we took a sightseeing boat around the inner city islands of Stockholm. As there was 14 of us exchange students, the coordination (especially the time coordination) was a little complicated in the beginning, but in the end we were all on board and happy.
On your right site you see the Vasamusseum.

Afterwards we had coffe and cake in the old city centre (Gamla Stan).

Nintendo Party

On friday the graphic design department throw areal nice party in the schools Festlokalen. The theme was NIntendo and everybody dressed up as a character from the computergames. Somehow most of the international students went as the little mushroom, so we ended up having 6-7 mushrooms dancing about. Anja, Beatrice and me went as gay Mario, Wario and Luigi. First we thought everybody would dress up as something so obvius but it turned out we were the only ones to do so. The party was hilarious and I went to bed around 6 o'clock in the morning. A Tetris cube.Pacman.Duckhunt.Donky Kong.

Autumn Walk in Kungliga Djurgarden

Today I had a long walk in Djurgarden, a beautiful part of Stockholm, situated on an island in the east of the city. The whole island is a big parc with a little castle in the middle and a very nice public garden. It was raining all day, but it smelled of autumn and the landscape looked calm and friendly. Later Holly and I had coffe and cake in the Rosendal greenhouse.

Chinese Pavillion

Pia, Sabrina (Australia) and Rebecca (USA)

Today we decided that, eventhough it was cloudy and raining, we had to go on a trip somewhere nice. We went to the Drottningholm palace, which is the permanent residence of the swedish royal family, which we believe was also in today, because everything was very clodes up and there were a lot of soldiers and guards. The palace is beautiful, and there is a nice chinese pavillion in the gardens, that is filled with chinese, japanese and indian artefacts from the 18th century, produced for the european market. A kitch dream.

By train to Fagersta

The first project at Konstfack is the Gröna Taget - the green train project, where Konstfack besides other swedish design enterprises is asked to be part of the design process for a new train for sweden.
Today we made a little trip by that train to Fagersta, hometown of "The Hives". That was almost the most interesting fact about Fagersta. I have no idea why we had to go to especially that place. But while wondering around the town we spotted some really nice places, drawn from a Astrid Lindgren tale.
The sun was shining, it was warm and we had almost a day off.
